Days 10-12

Let's see Florida...

Erin just moved in to a new apartment with her new roommate Jaclyn. I'm pretty sure two such beautiful people should not be allowed within in such close proximity of one another; their beauty exudes from with-out and within.

Erin & I went to visit the Morikami Gardens near her home in Boca.

We had lots of fun along the way, and even ended up wearing paper shoes in one of the dojos. (is that how you spell it?)
Here's Erin's pic with the blanket.

We also went kayaking this morning with Jaclyn, which was a lot of fun, although my arms are a bit tired to say the least.
and... our final pic together before leaving. erin dyed my hair last night... it's a little bit darker.

Day 9

Spending time with Joy was great! We took lots and lots of pictures, and there was not a dull moment in the entire day.
We spent some time at the beach & a local tiki bar...
We also had a bit of an obsession with taking pics of different stop signs we saw.
We came across some gorgeous places, and were surrounded by trees with spanish moss.
And here's Joy's pic for her picture with the blanket
Here's mine.
We went to Carrabba's for dinner, and it was delish!

Day 8

Yesterday was the longest leg of my driving journey. I was in the car for 12 hours yesterday. Talk about dedication to my art. So yesterday was a gorgeous day, and I found plenty of ways to entertain myself.

I listened to 'The Last Battle' - the final of the Chronicles of Narnia series.

I listened to 'Tuesdays with Morrie' - and cried through the whole thing, don't worry, it was a good cry.

I found various animals or shapes in the clouds ahead. What do you think this one is?

I read some pretty funny signs, like:
- Don't Tailgate
- Merge Right - Take Turns (This was on one of those big flashing highway signs)
- Speed Limit enforced by aircraft (what does that even mean?)
- & the best one was "You're always a weiner at Pedro's" (this place called 'South of Border' had advertisements for probably 100 miles before you reached it)

I also had time to figure out what I should have been doing in each state that I stopped in, too bad I'm already half way through the trip, guess I'll just have to do it next time.

I stopped in DC for lunch with one of my college roommates, Kayla

I arrived at Hilton Head Island around 9:20pm (I had left PA at 8 in the morning)
I promptly joined Joy and her friend Shawn to meet some friends... Joy rarely has a day off, and so the night before a day off is prime time for doing something, and since I was ready to do anything but sit in a car, it worked out perfectly.

The best adventure of our evening last night was just trying to get back out of the subdivision we were in to get back to a road we knew. I really should have paid more attention on the way in, but the way out at 3:30am was not at all simple. I think it took us about 20 minutes. (big subdivision = get directions on how to exit before leaving, and not having the number of anyone that could help you... lesson learned)

Days 6 & 7

Yesterday consisted of a rainy drive through Pennsylvania to my friend jon's house.

Highlights:

- Jon & I drove into Philly today to go to Qdoba and get some sweet burritos, and from there we walked around town a little bit.

- We stopped in LOVE park

- We also stopped across the street where there's an open paved area that has different pieces from various board games, from Sorry! to Monopoly to Dominoes.

- I'm pretty sure that we're going to watch Psych... and I know there's probably nothing else I'd rather be doing.

Day 5 - Cleveland Heights

Hey Guys,

Cleveland was just as I had remembered it...
...full of construction

In Cleveland, I visited for the evening with my cousin Sarah & her husband Justin.
it was a little awkward getting sarah naked for this picture, but sometimes you just have to go for it.

I'm now in Pennsylvania, the drive was rainy to say the least, but I'll post pics in the next couple of days.

Day 2-4

i am currently hanging out with my friend Mike in Michigan.

We are at his families' cabin, which is just across a tiny channel from Canada. Don't worry, the canadians are a peaceful people.

Let's see... highlights:

- I took a ferry to get on the island... it took all of 10 minutes to get across, but it was still quite the experience. Apparently it's the only way on or off the island (talk about a monopoly, I hate that game)

- I got a tour of the island by driving behind Mike and having him point out of the window at various things. It meant that I got to make up my own audible for what Mike was pointing at. "And if you look to your left you'll see what Mike is pointing at."

- I watched Martha Stewart with Mike. He says it's because Mario Batali was on, but I'm pretty sure Mike watches the show all the time.

- we are not the only people here this weekend, but there are definitely not as many as there are toothbrushes here... apparently there's a whole etiquette and procedure for who gets to keep their toothbrush at the cabin, and who doesn't.

- the best part of the trip so far has been getting to listen to Mike play his guitar and singing along with the songs i know.

Day 1

Greg's quite the busy bee. I got to see him for 2 hours, but now he's back to work, & I'll be lucky to see him much more for the evening.

highlights:

- I knicked a bird, within the first half hour of driving.

- I passed a rather large buffalo on the way here... no worries, it wasn't real, but I didn't have the chance to stop and take a pic: seeing as i was driving and all

- I get to see the show 'Big' tonight for free, and they have the large piano that they will dance on, just like in the movies...

Tomorrow it's off to Michigan!

embarking...

Tomorrow, I will start on my journey through &/or to 19 different states!

I'm really excited to see all of the people that I'm headed towards, and to have some fun while this summertime lasts!

I may or may not have the chance to blog whilst I am on the road, but I'll definitely be posting pictures when I get back...

For a while there I was also in search of a gimmick, or as my mom called it, a flat stanley... something that I could do in each state that I visited, to give the trip a fluidity or feng shui (fung shooey). Any who, I have figured it out, and you all will get to see what that 'gimmick' is when I post pictures upon my return.

Since most of you who check this blog are people that I am headed to see, well I guess the only thing to say is, I'll see you soon!

God Bless You.
