MAM

Yesterday my cooperating teacher and I took a group of ten students to the Milwaukee Art Museum. At the museum we were supposed to see slides and pieces of art that would inspire the students as they make art that suits requirements for an art competition that they are all entering. We were assigned a docen to guide us through the art museum and talk to us about the art work.

Our docen was under the impression that we were Martin Luther King High School as opposed to what we are which is Martin Luther. She was a little surprised to find a group of mainly caucasian Lutherans as opposed to a group in which african-americans would have been of the majority. Needless to say she had prepared a 'slightly' different tour than one that may have been the most appropriate for my students. It made for an interesting afternoon, that is for sure.
