back in the swing of things

so the school year officially began yesterday, and i officially started really working on it the day before that, so i have been climbing quite a steep slope as far as that's concerned.

it's definitely different this year, with knowing most of the students and getting to meet all of the new freshmen. there is a new teacher at the school this year, she's doing a great job. she kind of reminds me of myself when i was her age. sigh.

anywho, my social life will now consist of... sundays after church until volleyball season is over. oh well. eventually i will come to know my friends again, perhaps at the end of october.

doggie rehab

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
so, sad news folks... we have to give up Mr. higgins. he apparently bit my roommates sister-in-law and gave her some sort of bacterial infection and now along with some other circumstances we have to give him up. hopefully they will be able to rehab the poor guy so that some other family or loving people can take him, because he is a seriously cool dog & i will miss him dearly. i love you higgins!

reason #62 why my parents are a blessing from above as it relates to my ears.

my mom and dad like to get things done and have that motivation to get it taken care of. for example: i have been unable to hear very well out of my left ear for the past month or so. and in the one evening that i get to see my mother which included a bridal shower for my cousin and the general enjoyment of my family's company we also squeezed in over 45 minutes in the bathroom with my mom using an ear syringe to clean out 15 years worth of wax from my ears. now, i understand that this may be disgusting to some of you, but it is unbelievable the difference that it made to my ability to hear and truly understand my parents unconditional love for me.

thanks mom for the clean ears, and thank you dad for the ear wax accumulating ear canals you so graciously gave me.
